Daily Beauty Routine

I’ve gotten a ton of beauty related questions recently, so I thought I’d do a post to tell you guys about my favorite products and routine. My daily beauty regimen is actually pretty quick and simple, and total time only takes about 15-20 minutes.

First things first: I am a firm believer that you have to start with the basics. Skincare for me is the most important step in my daily routine. If nothing else, get yourself a good moisturizer and as my favorite author Rachel Hollis would say, “Girl, wash your face!” The daily moisturizer I use comes from Russia and I get it from a family friend in Pensacola so it might be tough to get your hands on. However, I have tried a couple of others that I liked and they are both linked below. I also love to use a jade roller to “iron” out wrinkles and reduce puffiness. I’m not the best at explaining the benefits so I linked a great article here if you’re up for a quick read.

Second: I am extremely attached to my foundation. I use Marc Jacobs Re(marc)able Foundation in the color Bisque Neutral. This might not be for everyone because it’s a super full-coverage foundation meaning its typically used for a full on glam look, or to hide major skin imperfections. In all honesty, I don't need it for either and every time I go to Sephora they try to talk me out of it, but I swear by this stuff! It’s not too heavy and a little goes a long way - the end result is a beautiful matte finish that hides EVERYthing which I love! I follow my foundation with the IT Cosmetics Your Skin but Better CC+ Airbrush Perfecting Powder to set it and provide SPF (again with the skincare because it makes such a difference!)

Third: My brows. I won’t lie it took me a bit to hop on the brow pencil train, but now I can’t leave the house without filling them in. I’m a huge fan of the Anastasia Brow Definer, and because my hair is so light I use the blonde color. For a great brow tutorial, check out the video below from my favorite Bachelor alum, Lauren Bushnell. She is a brow goddess!

Fourth: All about the eyes. If I had to live with only one product it would be mascara. I was fortunate to be blessed with long eyelashes, so I skip the expensive stuff in this category. Two of my favorite drug-store mascara brands are listed below. I tend to rotate them just so I don’t get bored, and I’ve found that the curved brush can make a huge difference in adding volume too!

Fifth & final step: Lips. If you know me at all, you know that I never leave the house without my lipstick. A good bold lip can take any look from 0 to 100. I like to wear reds and darker colors which might not work for everyone, but some of my faves are listed below, along with a great nude.

I hope this helps anyone looking for some product recommendations! Would anyone be interested in seeing a makeup tutorial video that goes into more detail??

Xoxo,

HS
